And if you’re still on the fence about getting an Instant Pot, well, read on! In this article, I will show you the 9 things you’ve always wanted to know (or have never known) about the Instant Pot, before you spend the rest of your days obsessing over getting one.

What can be cooked in an Instant Pot?

There’s nothing better than having variety in your daily meals. Want steak tonight, lamb tomorrow, and planning on going full veggie for the weekend? No dish is too much for the Instant Pot to handle.
From Instant Pot Mac & Cheese to Instant Pot Cheesecakes, you can find all sorts of recipes online that push the limits of your Instant Pot, giving you the ultimate value for money with just one device that can do it all.

Can I manually adjust the settings?

Although the Instant Pot is designed to be a set-and-forget device, it also gives you the autonomy to adjust all the settings manually to suit whatever you’re preparing.

This means that if you need to replicate a slow-cooking method for a particular dish that you’re making, you can do so in the Instant Pot. And this applies to any other method that you need to use for any other specific dishes you’re making.

How do I prevent my food from being overcooked?

Unlike regular cooking methods, where you can see your ingredients in the pan, skillet, or oven as you’re cooking it to ensure that it’s not burnt or overcooked, pressure cookers like the Instant Pot have a sealed lid that makes it harder for you to see what’s going on inside the cooking process.
The Instant Pot removes that worry from the equation, as it has a multitude of sensors and self-regulating features that ensure your food is cooked at the perfect temperature, the right amount of time, and the right amount of pressure – giving you a perfect dish every single time.

Is an Instant Pot large?

Here’s a consideration for those with small kitchens – you’ll need to clear out some counter space to fit the Instant Pot in your kitchen. It isn’t a small device by any means, but it isn’t a large thing either.
However, I feel having to deal with a minor inconvenience in your kitchen setup is greatly outweighed by all the benefits that the Instant Pot provides for you and your life.

Does the Instant Pot have any wireless capabilities?

The new versions of the Instant Pot (Smart) are Bluetooth friendly. What does this mean? Well, if you’re not already impressed by the easy-to-use function found on the device itself, you’ll be happy to know that you can control all features of your Instant Pot through your smartphone, while you’re in the comfort of your living room couch watching your favorite show on Netflix!

What type of cooking methods can I use with the Instant Pot?

When cooking with a standard Instant Pot, you are limited to only cooking foods which have liquids in them, as it uses pressurized liquid to cook the food inside it. But what if you’re cooking things that have no liquid in them, like meatloaf or cheesecake?
This is where “hacks” come in for the Instant Pot. For example, a PIP (Pot-in-Pot) method allows you to place the ingredients for your dish in one pot, and place it on a trivet (included with the Instant Pot). You then put a cup of water into the inner pot, which pressurizes and heats up to cook your ingredients in the main dish pot placed on the trivet.

Is the Instant Pot easy to clean?

With all the benefits of the Instant Pot, it’s not completely con free. It’s known that cleaning up the Instant Pot takes a bit more effort than usual, as there are several parts like the silicon gasket, lids, and rubber parts that need to be fully cleaned before reassembling them for the next time.
However, these parts are dishwasher safe, making cleaning a breeze if you don’t mind disassembling and assembling the Instant Pot after every use and cleaning.

Can I easily cook vegetables in an Instant pot?

Veggies like Broccoli, carrots, zucchini, brussel sprouts, and kale, are known to get really limp and tasteless when exposed to too much heat and steam. If you’re planning on using the Instant Pot to cook veggies, always set the Instant Pot to the QR (Quick-Release) setting to ensure that your veggies don’t end up turning into a tasteless, soggy mush.

Where can I get an Instant Pot?

Being one of the world’s most popular modern kitchen innovations, the Instant Pot can be found almost anywhere you can find kitchen appliances. Big retailers like Costco, Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, and many others will more than likely have them in stock, so check your local retailers to see if they have one.
And if you prefer staying home and getting one from the comfort of your living room, you can check out Amazon to get your Instant Pot delivered right to your door, without the hassle of driving to your local retailers.
